In the run up to our Christmas Market on the 10th December, we will be talking to some of the fabulous local business owners taking part. Today we are chatting to Suzy Lowe from Rustic Cakes Cornwall, based at the GWR Yard in St. Agnes.

Describe your business in 3 words
Truly delicious cakes
How long have you been in business and what has been your biggest learning?
Six years, be bold and stick to your core business
What is your favourite item on your menu and why?
I love my individual cakes because I bake into the cases and the next person to touch them will be the person who eats them! A mixed box of six is my best seller.
What is one piece of advice you would offer to someone starting their own business?
Stay true to the reason you wanted to start, it is easy to be led in all kinds of directions, do your best to identify the opportunities but do not compromise.
What do you prefer, Cornish pasty or fish and chips?
Fish and chips“ “for me, from Fission Chips in the village!
What would your dream afternoon off work/business look like?
A swim in the sea, then a full body massage, then a buffet of delicious sweet and savoury delights with a glass or two of Prosecco, Then a passionate evening with my husband and no children, 🙂 haha
What are you asking for from Father Christmas this year?
